The Project

  • Post-doctoral fellow  (one year, possible renewal)
  • Principal Investigator Team spanning 4 universities - Dr. Rick Audas (MUN), Dr. Kate Tilleczek (UPEI), Dr. Scott Ronis (UNB) & Dr. Michael Zhang (SMU)
  • The project and position is funded by the Canadian Institutes of  Health Research (CIHR)
  • 5 years of funding to study  youth mental health in Atlantic Canada
  • Collection and analysis of patient journeys through the ‘system’ and across four provinces
  • The work is well supported and conducted from Dr. Tilleczek’sYoung Lives Research lab and Qualitative Research lab at University of Prince Edward Island.
  • Policy and Practice engagement and uptake throughout



  • PhD in social science, community health or related discipline
  • Experience and expertise in qualitative research methods
  • Background in mental health for children and youth
  • Experience and expertise in research ethics (especially with youth and families)
  • Experience and expertise with NVivo and/or other textual analysis software 
  • Experience and expertise in longitudinal qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Experience in working effectively in research environments with families and young people
  • Ability to contribute and work productively in a large research team
