Post-Doctoral Fellowship
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship in the areas of palliative care, cancer, and health system innovation. The primary objective of this fellowship is to support the academic development of an emerging researcher interested in similar areas of research by providing additional training, research opportunities, and mentorship. Successful candidates should have completed a PhD in a related and relevant area. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including health services research, epidemiology, public health, gerontology and aging, etc. The fellow will be working on research projects in health services research, health system innovation, program evaluation, and policy-relevant applied research, mostly related to palliative care and cancer care within the broad health system, focusing on the home and community setting. Training will be provided in scientific research methods in the areas of health services research.
Fellows will work under the supervision of Dr. Hsien Seow. http://fhs.mcmaster.ca/oncology/faculty/hsienseow.html They will also have opportunities to work with health services researchers within the department of Oncology, McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. McMaster University is world-renowned for its program in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The health services research program in the Department of Oncology is also accomplished in the research areas of knowledge translation and supportive and survivorship care. The position is available September 1, 2012, but could be negotiated for later start date. The post-doctoral fellowship is available for 1 year, with a potential for renewal for a 2ndyear. All applicants must either be Canadian citizen or have met all legal requirements to work and reside in Canada.
